At Powerhouse Factories, we believe growing a brand’s social following is great – but it’s how you engage that following and how they respond that matters.

This week, we were honored to be named a Top 10 Social Savvy Agency by The Agency Post for our work with Shaw Floors. The Agency Post recognized our campaign to build and grow Shaw’s social communities, selecting winners “because of the story appeal that motivated users to engage, connect and care about the brands.”

For the highlighted campaign, we worked with Shaw Floors to launch a new brand of flooring, HGTV HOME Flooring by Shaw. The campaign began with an exclusive, three-day blogger event emceed by HGTV host Lisa LaPorta. We recruited influential DIY and design bloggers to create rooms from the floor up in 48 hours using the new line as inspiration. Throughout the experience, Shaw Floors’ Facebook community asked the bloggers about their designs in real time.

Following the event, we turned the before and after footage into webisodes and used the content as the focal point of a Facebook promotion called “30 Days of HGTV HOME.” Fans voted for their favorite makeovers and entered daily giveaways for the chance to win Shaw Floors for their home. The Facebook campaign drove more than 36,000 contest entries and 39,000 Likes in 30 days for Shaw Floors. It also generated 15,000 contest entrant opt-ins for a local dealer to contact them to discuss flooring options for their homes, proving the business value of the combined social media and influencer marketing campaign.
